Guide Trip Frequently Asked Questions
WHAT IS PROVIDED
Everything that is needed for a full day trip on the water, including ice chest, bottled water, tackle: rods/reels, floats, hooks, bait casters, spinning reels and fly rod and reel. If you prefer you can bring your own rods and reels.
However, we recommend using ours, as we are prepared with proper line, weights and hooks.
I carry all the current baits, so there's no need to bring much in the way of tackle. Bring hats, sunglasses, sunscreen and white sole sneakers if possible-prevents black marks on the boat.
I provide raingear - if needed or you're welcome to bring your own. The early morning and late evenings can be chilly, bring long sleeve if needed. Also, I carry a digital camera on the boat and will be happy to email pictures to you of your big catch.
OTHER ITEMS
I provide life vests, and all legally required equipment on board. If you have special needs, or special medical conditions, let me know and we'll work out the details to make sure we have what you need for the trip.
FISHING LICENSE - Needed for freshwater only 16 and older. A 7-day freshwater fishing license cost $16.50.
Licenses are available online www.myfwc.com, phone 888-347-4356 or purchase at any Wal-Mart or Bass Pro Shop while staying in Central Florida.
WHERE TO MEET
Meeting place will be specified with respect to where we will be fishing and which species of fish we are after.
It is important that we be in contact two or three days prior to the trip and exchange cell phone numbers in order to finalize any plans, and discuss any weather related changes for the trip.
Usually trips begin at safe light depending on the weather. My cell phone is 407-908-8498 or 407-908-3324, also my home phone is 407-957-0806.
I am most often on the water or out of the office. Please leave me a detailed message and I will return your call as soon as possible. Messages can be left at my home number, in the event my cell phone is out of service area.
We do have locations with limited cell phone service on our waterways.
SEVERE WEATHER
Lightning or severe winds and rain can sometimes be a problem.
If possible, I wait out passing severe weather in the bait shop or shelter. If the severe weather is prolonged, other arrangements must be made, rescheduling; for example: fish the evening bite instead, if it's a freshwater trip/we'll fish saltwater or if it's a saltwater trip/we'll fish freshwater.
Safety is a priority.
