Tips & Tactics
Largemouth bass anglers are most successful on the Kissimmee Chain of Lakes during the spring, fall and winter months. Crank baits, spinner baits, plastic worms, jerk baits and live shiners are popular baits during peak fishing in the spring (mid-February to April) when fishing is concentrated along the shoreline for spawning fish.
During the late summer and early fall, crank baits and top water can be very effective. In winter wild shiners are mostly used.
Crappie anglers concentrate their efforts along the lake edges during the winter months.
In late spring, and early fall most anglers fish for crappie drifting open water from the 6 foot to 12 foot range.
Live minnows and crappie jigs are among the most popular baits used. The more rods in the boat the more bites you will have.
Bluegill and Sunfish can be caught in early summer, in shallow water using crickets, minnows, earthworms and small spinner baits
During the remainder of the year they can be caught using the same baits in the deeper water.
